Indications: Uterine Inertia, Inadequate Labor, Delayed Parturition, Retention of Placenta, Post-Partum Hemorrhage, Prolapse of Uterus, Incomplete Milk Letdown, Pyometra, and Insufficient Involution of Uterus.

Contraindications: Do not use in Dystocia until correction is accomplished.

Drug Interactions: Severe hypertension has been reported when oxytocin was given three to four hours following prophylactic administration of a vasoconstrictor in conjunction with caudal block anesthesia. Cyclopropane anesthesia may modify oxytocin’s cardiovascular effects, so as to produce unexpected results such as hypotension. Maternal sinus bradycardia with abnormal atrioventricular rhythms has also been noted when oxytocin was used concomitantly with cyclopropane anesthesia.

Dosage and Administration: IM/SC

• Horses: 0.5-5.0 ml
• Buffalo/Cattle: 1.0-5.0 ml
• Calves, Sheep, Goats: 0.5-3.0 ml
• Dogs, Cats: 0.5-1.0 ml
• Single Dose IM/SC injection, may be repeated after 40 minutes.
• Storage: 2-8°C, Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
